Productivity & Knowledge Tools Live in production

Never lose an important link again.

A calm, paper-first personal link organizer built on Next.js and Supabase PostgreSQL 16. It automatically extracts URL metadata and keeps your saved knowledge completely private with database Row-Level Security.

The Problem

Saved links disappear into digital black holes.

Every professional discovers dozens of valuable articles, documentation pages, repositories, and business resources each week across chat channels, emails, and browser tabs. But without an effortless capture tool, those links get buried.

Standard browser bookmarks lack search and context, while commercial "read-it-later" apps have become bloated, filled with invasive tracking pixels, ad networks, and closed ecosystems that lock your own data behind monthly paywalls.

Who It's For

Knowledge workers who value speed, calmness, and true privacy.

LinkVault was built for software engineers, product researchers, writers, founders, and designers who need an uncluttered home for their web findings.

It provides an intentional sanctuary for people tired of algorithmic feeds, ad tracking, and complex multi-layered folder hierarchies.

What We Built

Five core capabilities delivered in plain business language.

  • Automatic metadata extraction: Paste any web link and LinkVault immediately parses the page title, open-graph image, description, and source domain.
  • Calm paper-first aesthetic: A distraction-free editorial interface designed with warm neutrals and readable typography that feels like a physical desk notebook.
  • Complete cross-device access: Fully functional as a desktop web app, an installable iOS Progressive Web App (PWA), and a downloadable Android APK with native share-sheet integration.
  • Unrestricted data portability: One-click export to standard JSON and CSV files anytime, ensuring zero platform lock-in and complete data sovereignty.
  • Zero ads and zero tracking: No analytics trackers, no advertising cookies, and no behavioral profiling — your reading list remains strictly yours.
Security & Scale

PostgreSQL Row-Level Security and hardened SSRF protection.

Data privacy is guaranteed at the database engine level. LinkVault runs on PostgreSQL 16 hosted via Supabase, with granular Row-Level Security (RLS) policies ensuring that users can only ever query and update rows linked to their authenticated UUID.

Because the app fetches metadata from arbitrary user-submitted URLs, we implemented rigorous Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) defense. The scraper blocks loopback addresses, internal cloud metadata IP ranges, private subnets, and non-HTTP protocols before sending any outbound requests.

What We Learned

Data ownership creates genuine user loyalty.

When users see that their data is protected by database-level security policies (RLS), that there are no third-party trackers recording their habits, and that they can export everything to standard CSV or JSON files with a single click, trust is built immediately.
